The 94th addition of comrades 2019 started off with a bang

The 94th addition of comrades 2019 started off with a bang. An estimated 23100 people from 84 countries took part in these prestigious event. The youngest being 20 and the oldest at 70 year old, there was no doubt that the comrades is the most popular and diverse marathons. This edition of the ultramarathon spaned from the normal 86.7 km to 89km from Durban to Pietermaritzburg. South African runner Edward Mothibi took first place , a huge achievement from last years 4th position. Comrades Marathon. Last year’s winner Bongumusa Mthembu finished second. Meanwile Grerda Steyn broke the record not only taking the number 1 spot, but running under 6 hour mark. She clocked in at 05:58:53.
